A Dying Tradition

After school Monday, multiple kids came out to represent their grade by decorating their hall. The winner of the competition can get out of their heavy and sweaty uniforms and put on some normal clothes for a day.
Each grade was assigned a theme, seniors and juniors had green and sophomores and freshman had white. Senior Izzy Hentz, when asked what she thought about this years decorating compared to past years, said,
“I think people have lost some school spirit over the years, but it was still fun to see people, especially the freshman, come out and get excited to decorate the hallways for homecoming week.”
Although less and less people are decorating the hallways, there is a spark and light of hope for Hackett coming from the freshman class. Multiple freshmen went all out decorating their hallway and did a great job, hopefully restoring the school spirit at Hackett. Freshman Elizabeth Kennedy said,
“It was really fun and I felt like our class bonded really well and we all got closer to each other. I will totally do it again next year.”
