Top 3 Caffeine Cravers at Hackett!

Hackett Catholic Prep is no stranger to caffein feins, but this year some students have taken their heart attack in a can drinks to the next level. Whether it's a morning Celcius, before and after school Starbucks, or a Red Bull every now and then, Hackett students but surprisingly staff as well just seem to never get enough sleep at night.

Damien loves Celsius so much he ate the can!

Honorable Mention

- Damien Martinez:

You might recognize this young lad as the guy who sold you that Celsius in the hall. Damien allegedly sold Celsius out of his locker to Hackett students and made a whopping 60$. When asked if this was true or not, he said, “Yes, 100%”.

- Zachery Koester

Theology teacher of the year and night owl of the year, Zachery Koester, enjoys a mug full of Baja Blast before class every day. When asked about this possible addiction, he said he gets around 4 hours of sleep each night and caffeine is a must. 

3 - Leah Smith

2 red bulls for school and a monster for the gym every day is Leah's routine. For some, caffeine is helpful for a little energy boost when needed. However, for Leah, caffeine may be a dependency. When I asked Leah if she had ever tried to quit, she said, “My hands started to shake when I tried to quit.”

2- Ellie Blondia

When asking people who at our school consumes the most caffeine, Ellie was a very popular answer. When I asked Ellie about her love for caffeine, she said that she used to consume 2 Celsius and occasionally some Starbucks after school. Although this feet of consumption is pretty impressive, she said that her love for the caffein game is fading and she rarely drinks caffein anymore. Although she doesn’t consume caffeine anymore, her legacy will always be remembered, and that’s why she’s on this list. 

1- Lilly Ziegler

Although Ellie’s caffeine consumption is dying, Lilly’s 3 Celsius a day is still alive and well. When asking people who drinks the most caffeine at our school, Lilly was the most popular answer by far, surpassing Ellie. Allegedly, she was one of Damiens' customers as well. 

From the taste of the drink or needing just a little energy boost in the morning, Hackett students and faculty love energy drinks. While some caffeine is a necessity for getting through their 8 hours of school a day, others like myself rely on sleeping through class for their energy. All that being said, one thing's for sure – Hackett students and faculty need more sleep at night.
