During winter break, binging was up on the trend with many wanting to sit down and relax. While some series lit up screens and sparked viral conversations, others, once beloved, found themselves falling out of favor. 

Squid Games (rated MA) remains a top-tier phenomenon, proving its power after captivating audiences worldwide with its shocking twists from season 1.

“It’s popular because of the memes, so I didn’t take it seriously at first, but season 2 really surpassed my expectations,” said senior Nathan Havenaar, capturing the majority sentiment of fans who underestimated the show’s depth. Another series capturing attention is Dexter. While morbid, its recent trend has many watching the older show with a very positive review. 

However, not every series is enjoying the same level of enthusiasm. Longtime staples like Grey’s Anatomy and Bridgerton are slowly losing their grip on viewers. Grey’s Anatomy, once the pinnacle of medical dramas, now feels stretched thin, struggling to maintain the emotional punch that made it iconic. 

Meanwhile, Bridgerton (MA rated) with its dazzling Regency-era romances, while visually stunning, seem to be waning in popularity as audiences gravitate toward fresher, more innovative narratives.
