Could You Survive a Fantasy Punishment?

Fantasy football isn't just about winning—it's about avoiding the dreaded last-place punishment. Every league has that one unfortunate soul who finishes at the bottom of the standings, and the best leagues ensure that finishing last comes with a price. Some punishments are embarrassing, some are grueling, and some are just downright hilarious.

In the latest league controversy, Brooks Basler found himself skeptical about the fairness of the latest punishment. For those who are constantly monitoring the barstool, you probably saw the poll up there for people to vote for his punishment.

By a good majority, he will likely be tasked with filming the “Good Girl” social media trend, in which a pre-selected list of female students will be picked for him to read aloud, proclaiming that they are “Good Girls.”

”I’m very on edge about this. But I’ll take it like a champ,” he said, after being asked about his thoughts on this punishment.

Skepticism won't save him from the league’s ironclad rules. He will likely be carrying out the social media trend one way or another…

Meanwhile, in a previous fantasy football league, Noah Emmer found himself in an unrelated but equally disastrous situation. He was forced to take five melatonin tablets.

It’s punishments like these that make each participating member in fantasy football put a good effort in to try and stay out of last. Coming up with fantasy punishments is always a hefty task as well.

If someone is finding their league struggling with some ideas, below are some of the hot trending fantasy punishments that everyone’s talking about:

Fake Job Interview Challenge 📞😬

The loser has to apply to real jobs on LinkedIn but must use a terrible fantasy football-related name (e.g., "Cooper Kupp Enthusiast" or "Dak Prescott's real brother") and answer one recruiter call while staying in character.

Public “TED Talk” on Fantasy Football 🎤🤓

Set up in a store (Target, Walmart, etc.) or a busy area with a whiteboard and start a serious lecture on why they lost the league. Extra points if they print paper handouts.

The "Gym Grunter" Challenge 🏋️‍♂️🔊

The loser must go to a busy gym and over-exaggerate every single lift—we’re talking dramatic screaming, moaning, and yelling out phrases like, “THIS ONE’S FOR YOU, MOM!” after each rep.

The "Emotional Support Mannequin" 🛍️🫂

The loser must take a lifesize mannequin on a date—to a restaurant, the movies, or even a park. They must talk to it, feed it, and refer to it as their soulmate in front of everyone.

These are just a few of the endless punishment possibilities. If you’re involved in fantasy, I think it’s best to make your draft picks wisely because you never know what punishment you’ll have to serve if you end up last.
