Football Finale
In the stadium and under the lights, it’s David versus Goliath. This Friday, November 15th, United will play their most thrilling and important game yet. Our Titan football team travels to Grand Rapids to take on Grand Rapids Catholic Central in a game that determines who takes home the 2024 Division 7 Regional title.
Last week, our Titans defied all odds against the solid Berrien Springs high school football team. The game ended in a 41-22 blowout led by Hackett’s top athletes: junior Keegan McCue who completed one touchdown, sophomore Elijah Brooks with another touchdown, and senior Gavin St. Martin with an interception. The boys are ready to dominate their game on Friday and are prepared to do whatever it takes to bring home the title.
United hasn’t seen a Regional Final game in three years so the stakes are higher than ever. When asked about the upcoming game, junior Gio Medina said, “Being a part of this team for two years means everything to me and now that we’ve made it this far, we’re not gonna give up just yet.” Throughout this season the Titans have shown their heart and determination, racking up an impressive 9-2 record against equally competitive schools. They are looking to build on this as they take on the Cougars of Grand Rapids Catholic Central.
The playoffs are the best part of the season and a time nobody should miss out on. Bundle up, grab your friends and family, and head out to Grand Rapids to watch the Titans overcome an opponent double their size.
