Blood Drives Save Lives

Hackett’s NHS chapter partnered with the Red Cross to put on a blood drive at Hackett Catholic Prep’s gymnasium on February 8th, 2024. This will be the second blood drive hosted at Hackett this school year. Due to the nationwide shortage of blood, people must donate. Anyone over the age of 16, that doesn’t have a preexisting health condition, is eligible to donate blood in the state of Michigan. The process is simple, click on the link for the website (, and choose a time slot.

Walk-ins are allowed, but appointments will have priority. Once you get there, simply walk in and give your name at the registration table. Once you are called and your blood is drawn, you will be asked to wait 30 minutes to make sure there are no symptoms of fatigue or dizziness indicating any chance of passing out while driving home. There are slots available in fifteen-minute intervals from 8:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Every person who donates will receive a $20 Amazon gift card for their contribution. If you’re feeling generous, please consider donating blood for a good cause. Your donation will be greatly appreciated and you will be saving lives.
