How to Talk to Women
By Lindsey Piel
Talking to women can be daunting, right? However, young men often make it much more complicated than it needs to be. The boys at Hackett should take this into consideration with Homecoming approaching and a surplus of available ladies!
It is easy to get a date for Homecoming. Most girls would love to be asked. There are a lot of fun ways to ask a girl that are really simple. Ms. Gergely advises you to avoid texting her or having someone else ask her for you. She also recommends avoiding the phrase, ‘just as friends’. Mr. Adrian wisely suggests that you give her a compliment. “Tell her that you think she is a lot of fun, say she's funny, or try to humor her by making a joke.”
Here are a couple casual phrases suggested by teachers at Hackett that you can use to ask a girl to Homecoming:
“I think you would be a really fun date for homecoming.” - Ms. Gergely
“I bet we could have a really good time together at Homecoming.” - Ms. Gergely
“Hey, Homecoming is coming up, and I think you're really funny, you have a funny…face!” - Mr. Adrian
Okay, maybe don’t use Mr. Adrian’s idea. Either way, let loose and don’t be nervous! A date is just a date. Happy Homecoming!
