Mission Impossible?
Mission trips are a great way to give back to the community and help others so why doesn't Hackett do mission trips?
Hackett used to send students out on mission trips a couple of years ago as Mrs. Ulbrich said that when she went to Hackett they would have her and the other students go out to the Dowagiac area and go play and serve ice cream to the migrant workers and their children on the farms. Mrs. Ulbrich said she really enjoyed it.
“It was very fulfilling to do something else for someone in need and it felt
rewarding giving back to the community.”
In the 2007-2010 school year students took alternative spring breaks to go help and clean up from Hurricane Katrina. The alternative spring breaks in the early 2010s also went to Tampa Florida, North Carolina, and New Orleans, Loiusiana for various clean ups and other activities.
Hackett as a Catholic high school focuses on helping others and giving back to the community, and what better way to do that then a mission trip.
Today there are many problems in the community and students do need service hours, mission trips would be perfect as it makes Hackett and the students embody the Hackett focus of helping others.
