New Students: Joel Sebastian

Hackett welcomed a number of new students this year. New students are important to our school’s culture because of the new perspectives they can share.

  One of our new students is Joel Sebastian. He transferred from Portage Northern to Hackett this year. Joel enjoys being in tennis and chess club. When asked about joining other clubs, Joel said that he appreciates how Hackett is a relatively small school, which means anyone who wants to join a sport or club is able to be included. He thinks that in spite of having less facilities than his former school, Hackett has more opportunities for everyone because of its smaller size.

 When asked what his favorite thing at Hackett is, Joel said, “The teachers here are very nice.” He is grateful to be at a school where the teachers truly care about their students. Joel is adjusting well to being at Hackett, and we are grateful to have him in our community!
