Remember the Seniors

Hackett's varsity basketball teams will be celebrating their senior night on Friday, February 23, at the Harve-Freeman gymnasium, with both teams playing Constantine. The seniors will all be announced sometime during the games.

This year's girls team has three seniors to be honored, Alysa Dumont, Estella Cronen, and Alyse Baughman. All three seniors have played four years of basketball, working their way up to varsity positions.

As for their future plans, they all plan to attend college after high school. Alysa is undecided in both college and major, and will not be playing basketball next year. Estella has also yet to decide on her college but will study marketing wherever she goes; she will not play basketball in college. Alyse has committed to Kalamazoo College, where she will study biology and will continue to play basketball for the college.

The boys team will honor two seniors this Friday, Andrew Rann and Christian Willis. Christian played basketball for two years, sophomore and senior years. Meanwhile, Andrew has played all four years of high school.

Both boys are currently undecided about college but have decided what to study. Andrew will study political science and will not continue his basketball career. Christian will study criminal justice and will do likewise regarding basketball.

Senior night this Friday will not only be celebrating our senior basketball players but also our senior cheerleaders! This year there are two seniors on the cheer team, Madelyn Singleton and Julia Marshall.

Madelyn has been on cheer for two years, joining as a junior. She hasn't decided what college she is going to, but will be on a pre-law track. Julia has narrowed her college choice down to either Grand Valley State University or Michigan State University, where she will study pediatric nursing.

The games will occur on Friday, February 22; the girls play at 6:30 and the boys at 7:30. The theme is pink-out. Make sure to show up to cheer on the teams and show the seniors your support!
