Marlen Reys has always had a creative spark and a strong sense of self. With two older brothers and a baby sister, her life has been full of memorable moments, from riding four-wheelers across her family’s ranch in Mexico or attending community parties celebrating the Virgin Mary's birthday. One of her fondest memories involves spending time with her stepbrother at local fairs, even if one playful moment turned into a childhood scare when a flying shovel left a lasting mark– literally and figuratively.

Marlen started her education at Edison Elementary and made her way through schools like Norix and Maple Street before arriving at Hackett. The shift in environments wasn’t always easy, especially when it came to adapting to new routines and more structured class schedules. But if there's one thing Marlen knows how to do, it’s adjust, something she’s carried with her both in life and in her ambitions.
A future interior designer in the making, Marlen is already laying the groundwork for her dream career. She plans to attend KVCC before transferring to Western to pursue her passion. Her love for styling spaces started early, often expressed through house design games she played as a kid. These days, she finds joy in experimenting with her own home’s look, turning ordinary spaces into personalized, cozy environments.

When it comes to friendships, Marlen values honesty and humor. “A true friend is someone you can tell anything,” she says, reflecting the strong bonds she’s formed. She’s always herself as someone who’s learned that sometimes, putting yourself first isn’t selfish, it’s necessary.
With a future full of potential and a personality built on authenticity, Marlen is more than ready to design the life she’s always imagined.
