SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Sisters by chance Friends by choice: Emma Bartholemew

By: Natalie Burhans

Most sisters are always arguing and fighting about something, but Emma and her sister are the complete opposite. “My sister is my best friend in the whole world, she is definitely my inspiration for lots of stuff, she is very smart and driven and I love her style,” Emma said.

Emma is the youngest of four kids. While we know she looks up to her sister Lauren, she also looks up to her older brothers. She said, “My brother Christian is very level-headed and I admire the way he handles things. With John I know I can always watch silly movies and convince him to go on late night snack runs.”

Along with hanging out with her sister she also likes to be with friends. In her free time, which she doesn’t have as much of, she likes to read and go on walks outside. She was a part of the cheer and track team during high school. She started cheer freshman year and she explained it as, “ A spur of the moment kind of thing.” She is even considering maybe joining the University of Michigan cheer team her sophomore year of college.

Emma will be attending University of Michigan and studying psychology, but she is not 100%  decided on her major. When asked why she chose the University of Michigan she said, “I chose Michigan because I wanted to go somewhere that would push me academically that has a good social life, out of state tuition is too expensive.” Her sister as well as her brother went to the University of Michigan so she is comfortable with the school and excited to attend next year.
