We Regret to Inform You......

By Natalie Burhans

Many seniors have applied to colleges and either been accepted or rejected. Obviously, if you apply to your dream school and get rejected you are most likely going to be upset. But many people cope differently with disappointment.

Some seniors in the past year would make tik toks joking about how they got rejected to laugh about it instead of cry.

When interviewing seniors on what they would do if they got rejected from college these are the answers I received. An anonymous senior said.  “I would attend a different school for the semester or year, and then I would try to apply again the next year.” While another said “If it was a college I really wanted to go to I would try to apply again, and if it was a college I wasn’t really passionate about I would probably just brush it off.”

Being rejected or deferred should motivate students to work harder. Especially if it is their dream school they would want to work harder to be able to attend that college eventually.

Getting rejected from college is like going online to purchase concert tickets you really want, and when you get to the website they are all sold out. Is it the end of the world? No. But you are still disappointed.
