What are the odds your parents know the password to your phone?
High school is a strange time between adulthood and childhood. Relating that to cell phone usage, parents have the choice to stand on one side of the aisle or the other. Do your parents monitor your cell phone or do they not care? I assumed most parents just don’t care, but I was brought mixed answers when I asked if your parents know your cell phone password or not.

When polling people in B lunch out of a sample of 25 in both the upper and lower class, I found that there’s a 31% chance if you are an upperclassman that your parents know your password, and if you’re an underclassman there's a 45% chance that they do. Often times helicopter parents create a sneakier child as well. 82% of kids who said that their parents were helicopter parents said that they hide or have alternate ways to hide their social media accounts from their parents (alt accounts, etc). When asking people about their helicopter parents an anonymous person stated:
“Having such strict parents makes me more creative in finding sneakier ways around whatever dumb rules they have” ~ Anonymous
This should be no surprise to anyone. With f.o.m.o. at an all-time high, Life 360, cell phone passwords, and screen time are no match for the average teen. The best solution to this problem for parents is to trust their kids along with having a strong relationship with them. This solution fosters trust in an untrustworthy situation, and brings the best out of both parties.
