Why do we need a student council?

Other than being a platform for student representation, the Student Council benefits our school in many ways. It gives students who are interested in leadership roles a chance to voice the concerns of their fellow classmates.

As a part of the Student Council you will be deciding important school themes, like for Homecoming, hallway decorations, etc. You will be the voice of concern for your fellow classmates. Meetings are once a month and in these meetings you get to discuss school issues or important information with Principle Scoles.

So if you are interested in running, we are having elections soon which every student can run for. Council positions will be decided by a school vote and begin early in the 2nd quarter. This is an opportunity for you to help benefit your school and grow your leadership skills.

Student Council members are expected to show devotion to Hackett and ask their fellow students about ongoing problems. If this is a job you are up for, you should consider running. Come 2nd quarter the Student Council will be in full force!
