Amanda had an exciting childhood and learned a lot over the years. In grade school Amanda really liked Miss Busk and she looked up to her and she went to her first communion, which was really nice. What Amanda remembers most about her time in grade school is when she met one of her best friends, Meredith Chenier.  Amanda recalled, “she was very athletic and nice and respectful and we just clicked together.”

Outside of school her favorite hobbies are reading and playing pickleball. Amanda also enjoys going on bike rides along the lake and enjoys swimming and boating. The sport that took Amanda's heart at such a young age was figure skating and has been competing in the sport for 12 years.

On the weekends Amanda likes to go shopping at the outlet mall in Grand Rapids and shops at Depop for shoes and clothes. This year Amanda joined the soccer team and it has been a lot of fun for her, “everyone is nice and I'm making memories.”

Amanda's passion is writing and she works really hard at it because it is something that piques her interest. Last December she wrote the fall play The Little Match Girl and Amanda says “It was the first time I got to see my work put on stage and I thought everyone did a really good job. I am thankful to everyone who participated.”

This upcoming fall Amanda will be attending the University of Michigan to study Creative Writing and minor in Psychology while trying to continue her skating career on the synchro team.
