Get on your feet for Pete!

An icon, celebrity, legend, the one and only…Pete Rizzo. Hackett has some of the most supportive fans, but one fan individually stands out amongst the crowd; the Hackett legend, Pete Rizzo. Pete has generously shown his dedication to Hackett Catholic Prep for over four decades…and still counting!

Where does Pete get his love for Hackett and his tremendous Iris spirit? Well, surprisingly, it is not because of his Hackett education. He did not attend Hackett, but it was his father's legacy at Hackett, and was surrounded by the Hackett community through friends and family. It was around 1980 that Pete began to make his mark, attending basketball games, football, and baseball, hardly missing a single game. His dedication was recognized by coaches and staff and eventually was invited to ride the bus with the teams to away games.

Nib Reisterer, who was coaching basketball around the time Pete started growing his legacy, took note of Pete’s dedication to the Irish and became good friends with the superfan. “I knew Pete because my father was his dentist. He sat behind our bench every game..if he wasn’t working he was involved with Hackett athletics.” Pete Rizzo has shown nothing but his extreme love for Hackett sports. Currently he has been struggling with illness, restricting his appearance, but he will be back in no time! We will continue to pray for Pete’s recovery and encourage you to keep him in our prayers. Pete bleeds green; he is a Hackett Legend that will never be forgotten.
