Being halfway done with his senior year and his last high school soccer season ever, Christian Ynclan is far from done with soccer.
“I have been playing soccer since I was seven years old, and it is one of my favorite things to do.”
His main interest and what he has based his life around for the past ten years is soccer. Christian started playing soccer for A.Y.S.O. When he was only seven years old, and then two years later joined the club Zoo Crew and played there for three years, and then finally transferred to Portage Soccer Club for his last couple years and was captain of his team for three years. He also has been a part of the Boys Varsity Soccer team the past four years during school. Christian was captain for his senior year and received all district all four years and academic all state.
When you first meet Christian he is shy and introverted but once you get to know him he can be very outgoing and fun. He loves the warm weather and going on vacation anywhere warm with his family and friends.
Christian attended Y.W.C.A. for preschool and then for kindergarten through 8th grade he went to St. Augustine. He worked at Kalamazoo College with U.S.T.A. the past three summers and is planning to get an internship with a company for chemical engineering this summer.
When looking into the future he plans to attend University of Michigan and study Chemical Engineering. When asking why he chose that profession he said,“I enjoy studying science, since it shows real life applications to what we learn.”
