Teeing Off: Irish Boys Golf

The boys golf team swings back into action this spring looking to grow on a very successful past few seasons.

Junior class is going to have to carry the boats this year as there are no seniors to lead the squad, but that doesn't take away anything from this group. The team consists of 5 junior boys: Noah Emmer, Chris Ogrin, Andrew Ogrin, Grahm Zygadlo, and Evan Czuk, two sophmores: Cohen Happel, and Justin Tyler, along with freshman: Max Nobis. In the words of Noah Emmer “the whole line up is experienced from top to bottom”.

Following the many successful years the boys have high aspirations for this year, “The state championship is definitely in reach and this team is very capable of winning, we just have to show everyone what we are made of. It is only a mental battle from here on out.” - Chris Ogrin. This team already has the skills to win it all it just comes down to the mentality as pointed out by Chris.

The team kicks of its season on April 12 with a jamboree, and are hoping to get off on the right foot “we want to continue are streak of winning conference, and having multiple players gain all conference honors. To continue this streak we have to start off strong and stay strong through the whole season.” - From junior Andrew Ogrin.

This golf team can see and believe in their own potential and are ready for the season that awaits them with much faith in each other. If one were to ask any player on this team what they think the team is capable of this year the word “states” would come up somewhere.
